What are the Medical Checkup Requirements for new employees in Poland?

  2. Periodic Medical Examination:

    • Schedule: The frequency of periodic medical examinations depends on the nature of the work and the associated health risks.
  3. Control Medical Examination:

    • Purpose: This examination is required if an employee has been on sick leave for more than 30 days. It assesses whether the employee is fit to return to work and if any adjustments or accommodations are needed.
    • Requirement: The control medical examination must be conducted after extended sick leave to confirm the employee’s readiness to resume their duties.


Record-Keeping Requirements

Employers are mandated to keep all medical examination reports as part of their statutory obligations. This includes:

  • Preliminary Medical Reports: Documents confirming the employee’s fitness before they start working.
  • Periodic Medical Reports: Records of regular health checkups throughout the employee’s tenure.
  • Control Medical Reports: Documentation from examinations conducted after prolonged sick leave.
