Can employees work from a client or distributor’s office in Latvia?

No, employees engaged through Horizons in Latvia cannot perform their work from a client’s or distributor’s office.

Under Latvian employment law and EOR compliance standards, employees must work from their registered home address or another approved remote location. Working from a third-party site, such as a client, partner, or distributor office, is not allowed and may result in regulatory non-compliance.

Mandatory Work-from-Home (WFH) Arrangement

Horizons contracts in Latvia operate under a mandatory work-from-home setup. As part of this arrangement:

  • Employees must work from home unless another location is formally approved in advance.

  • A monthly Work-from-Home (WFH) allowance is compensated with the agreed upon monthly salary.

This setup ensures full compliance with Latvian labor requirements related to workplace safety, insurance, and tax reporting.
