What are the standard Working Hours in Thailand? How about Overtime?
Horizons upholds best practices for working hours in Thailand to ensure both compliance with local labor laws and employee satisfaction:
- The standard working hours are set at 8 hours per day and 40 hours per week.
- Employees are entitled to a minimum break of 1 hour for every 5 hours of work to maintain productivity and well-being.
For overtime, employees can work a maximum of 36 hours per week, but this is only permissible with prior written consent from the employee. Overtime compensation is structured to reward additional work fairly:
- During regular working days, employees receive 150% of their regular salary.
- If overtime occurs on weekends, the pay increases to 200%.
- Working on public holidays is compensated at 300% of the normal salary.
By implementing these practices, Horizons aims to foster a balanced work environment and ensure fair treatment of all employees.
