How as Annual Leave structured in Armenia?
In Armenia, annual leave entitlements are carefully regulated to ensure employees receive adequate rest. Here’s an overview of how annual leave is structured:
Minimum Leave
- Employees are entitled to a minimum of 28 days of paid annual leave each year.
Extended Leave
- Some employees may be eligible for extended leave up to 35 days. This is mandatory for those in roles involving significant nervous, emotional, or intellectual strain or professional risks.
Additional Leave
- Employees working in dangerous or harmful conditions or with unregulated schedules may also qualify for additional leave, recognizing the demanding nature of their work.
Accrual and Eligibility
- During the first year of employment, leave is pro-rated based on the length of service.
- Employees become eligible to request leave after 6 months of continuous employment.
- From the second year onward, employees are entitled to the full number of leave days.
Accrued Leave
- Any unused annual leave can be carried over to the next year, but this requires the employer’s consent.
This structure ensures a balance between work and rest, with additional provisions for more demanding or hazardous roles.
