How are final pay and accrued leave handled in Canada?

Any unpaid wages are due to terminating employees, and the monthly salary may be pro-rated to accommodate the final payment. Employers should provide all details related to final pay and accrued leave in the employee’s termination agreement. The exact amounts offered will depend on the employee’s start date, termination date, and internal leave policies.

Even employees who are dismissed due to disciplinary infractions are entitled to their final pay and accrued leave. Your PEO can manage a compliant termination process for you and make all necessary final payments when appropriate.
