Horizons provides Occupational Health & Safety (H&S) services in the Netherlands through our local provider, BrinQer B.V.. This service is a legal requirement under Dutch law and is not optional for employers.
What Is the H&S (Arbodienst) Service?
The H&S service, known locally as Arbodienst, is mandated by the Dutch Working Conditions Act (Arbowet, Article 14). It ensures that employers meet their legal obligations regarding workplace health and safety. This is not a health insurance plan and does not appear on employee payslips.
Key Features of the Service
- Risk assessments and workplace safety evaluations
- Access to certified occupational health physicians, especially during employee illness
- Support for reintegration after long-term sickness, including a dedicated case manager
- Confidential consultations for employees with a company doctor
Registration and Offboarding
- Employees are automatically enrolled on BrinQer’s online platform upon onboarding
- They are deregistered during offboarding
- The service is billed per active employee per month and is considered within the employer burden.
