Where Can I Get My T2200 Tax Form in Canada?
As a Canadian employee, you may be eligible to claim certain employment-related expenses on your taxes, such as work-related travel, home office costs, or supplies. To do so, you’ll need a T2200 Tax Form, also known as the Declaration of Conditions of Employment.
Can Horizons Provide the T2200 Form for Me?
As an EOR provider, Horizons, doesn't have visibility into your day-to-day work, so we ask that employees complete the T2200 form on their own. Once filled out, please send it to us for verification and signature. We will then return the signed and completed form to you.
Steps for submitting your T2200 form to Horizons:
- Complete the form yourself. You can download a fillable copy of the form from the CRA website here: T2200 Form - Canada Revenue Agency.
- Submit the completed form to Horizons for verification and signature. Simply send an email to [email protected].
What Does Horizons Verify on the T2200 Form?
Once received, Horizons carefully verifies the following on the T2200 Form:
Job Title, Start, and End Dates: Horizons will confirm that your job title, start date, and end date of employment are correct.
Employer Information: Horizons will ensure that the employer listed on the form is Horizons, not your client or any other organization.
Allowance and Reimbursement Information: Horizons will verify that the boxes checked on the form accurately reflect your actual pay and reimbursements. For example, if you’ve received internet allowances or other reimbursements, the form should not indicate that you have not.
Once everything is verified, Horizons signs and returns the form to you, so you can proceed with your tax filing.
