Does Horizons provide Car Leasing for Employees as a Benefit?

At Horizons, we focus on simplifying employment processes, which is why we generally do not provide car leasing for employees.

Why Doesn’t Horizons Provide Car Leasing?

  1. Operational Complexity
Maintaining a car fleet involves significant administrative challenges, including procurement, maintenance, and tracking. As an EOR, our focus is on simplifying employment processes for our clients, not adding logistical layers.

  2. Responsibility and Liability
Leasing cars places long-term financial and legal responsibilities on the managing organization, which does not align with our EOR role focused on compliance and payroll.

  3. Tax Implications
Leasing vehicles can lead to additional tax liabilities for both employees and employers, varying by region.

  4. Long-Term Commitment
Leasing contracts often require extended commitments, which can result in inefficiencies if employees change roles or leave.

Recommended Alternative: Employee Reimbursement for Car Rentals

Instead of leasing, we recommend reimbursing employees for business-related car rental expenses. Employees must submit receipts, and expenses should align with regional reimbursement processes e.g. include travel itineraries and well documented mileage diarias. Once approved by the client, reimbursement can be processed directly via the Horizons platform.
