What are the Annual Leave Regulations in Turkey?

In Turkey, annual leave is an essential benefit for employees, ensuring time for rest and personal matters. The amount of annual leave depends on the employee’s length of service with the company.

  • Employees with 1 to 5 years of employment are entitled to a minimum of 14 days of annual leave.
  • Employees with 6 to 15 years of service are entitled to 20 days of annual leave.
  • Employees with more than 16 years of service are entitled to 26 days of annual leave.

Annual leave accrues starting from the second year of employment. There is no entitlement to annual leave during the first year. Leave days are accumulated and can be carried over to the following year, but they must be used within 12 months of being earned.

In some cases, with the employer's consent, employees may carry over their unused leave to the next year, providing flexibility in scheduling time off.
