  1. Mutual Agreement: Employees can only work on public holidays if there is a mutual agreement between the employer and the employee. Employers cannot mandate work on these days without the employee’s consent.

  2. Necessary Situations: Generally, work on public holidays is only allowed in specific circumstances where it is necessary. This includes industries that operate continuously, such as healthcare, transportation, public safety, and hospitality, or in cases of urgent work that cannot be postponed.


Compensation for Working on Public Holidays
