Employee Safety & Emergency Outreach Support in Mexico

Modified on: Mon, 2 Mar, 2026 at 1:43 PM

In situations involving civil unrest, natural disasters, or other safety concerns, we understand that employee well-being is the top priority. We are here to support you in ensuring your team members are safe and have access to appropriate resources.

Recommended First Step: Client Outreach

As the direct manager and day-to-day point of contact, you are best positioned to initially reach out to your employees. We recommend that clients contact all impacted employees directly to confirm their safety and well-being, using established communication channels such as Slack, email, phone, or WhatsApp. Please document responses and any lack of response. Direct outreach from the manager or internal team is typically the fastest and most effective way to confirm status.

If You Are Unable to Reach an Employee
If you are unable to contact a team member after reasonable attempts, please notify us. We can then attempt follow-up using the contact details on file. Where an employee has voluntarily provided emergency contact information, we can reach out to the designated emergency contact as appropriate. We maintain emergency contact details for most employees; however, some individuals may have expressly declined to provide this information. Emergency contacts are used solely for urgent welfare-related matters.

Support Resources for Employees

While an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is not a statutory requirement in Mexico, employees may benefit from access to local crisis and emotional support services during times of unrest. The following resources are available in Mexico and may be shared directly with employees if needed:

  • Emergency services: 911 (for immediate danger or urgent assistance)
  • Línea de la Vida (24/7 mental health and crisis support): 800 911 2000
  • SAPTEL (Psychological Support and Crisis Intervention): 800 472 7835 or 55 5259 8121
  • LOCATEL (general information and emotional support, 24/7 in Mexico City): 55 5658 1111
  • Consejo Ciudadano (psychological first aid and crisis support): 55 5533 5533

These services provide confidential support, psychological first aid, emotional counseling, and referrals where appropriate.

Our Commitment

We are committed to supporting you in fulfilling your duty of care and helping ensure employee safety. If a situation escalates or you have concerns about a specific individual, please contact us promptly so we can coordinate appropriate next steps. Your team’s safety and well-being remain our priority.
