  • March 18–22 (Wednesday to Sunday) – Eid al-Fitr (approximate dates, subject to moon sighting)
  • May 26 (Tuesday) – Arafat Day
  • May 27–29 (Wednesday to Friday) – Eid al-Adha (approximate dates)
  • June 16 (Tuesday) – Islamic New Year (Hijri New Year)
  • August 25 (Tuesday) – Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday (Mawlid al-Nabi)
  • November 30 (Monday) – Commemoration Day (Martyrs’ Day)
  • December 1–2 (Tuesday and Wednesday) – UAE National Day / Union Day


Notes & Context

  • Eid al‑Fitr and Eid al‑Adha dates are based on lunar (Hijri) observations and can shift by 1–2 days depending on moon-sighting.
  • The UAE Cabinet may shift holidays falling midweek to nearest working days to create longer weekends under Cabinet Resolution No. 27 of 2024.
  • Private and public sectors receive the same official holidays.
  • Expected total public holidays are around 12 days, with extended long weekends for Eid celebrations.
