Is a written employment contract required in Peru?

Yes. Peruvian labor law (Article 72) requires that all employment contracts be in written form. This applies to both indefinite and fixed-term agreements.

In addition, a copy of the signed contract must be submitted to the Labor Authority within 15 calendar days of execution.

Horizons manages both the drafting and the filing of employment contracts on behalf of clients, ensuring full compliance with local legal requirements. This includes:

  • Preparing contracts that meet Peruvian legal standards

  • Submitting the required copy to the Labor Authority within the mandated timeframe
