What is the minimum wage in New Zealand?

As of 1 April 2025, the adult minimum wage in New Zealand is NZD $23.50 per hour, increased from $23.15 in 2024. This rate applies to employees aged 16 and over who do not qualify for the starting-out or training minimum wage.

The starting-out and training minimum wage rates have also increased, now set at NZD $18.80 per hour.
