What are the annual leave rules in Georgia?

Employees in Georgia are entitled to both paid and unpaid annual leave, with specific rules for accrual and carryover.


Annual Leave Entitlement

  • Paid Leave: Minimum of 24 calendar days per year

  • Unpaid Leave: Up to 15 calendar days per year


Accrual of Leave

  • First Year: Leave is pro-rated based on the length of service

  • From Second Year: Employees are entitled to the full leave allowance


Carrying Over Accrued Leave

  • Accrued paid leave can be carried over to the following year
