What employment agreement types does Horizons offer in Georgia?

Horizons offers two standard types of employment agreements in Georgia: Unlimited and Fixed-term.
Each type is designed to align with Georgian labor laws and suit different employment needs, including compliance for foreign employees.

1. Unlimited Employment Agreements

Offered for:

  • Full-time positions

  • Part-time positions

Unlimited contracts have no fixed end date and are suitable for ongoing employment relationships. This is a standard option available for both local and foreign employees.

2. Fixed-term Employment Agreements

Offered for:

  • Full-time positions

  • Part-time positions

Duration:

  • Minimum: 1 year

  • Maximum: 30 months

  • Renewal Limit: Total duration cannot exceed 30 months

Key Rules:

  • Mandatory for expats (foreign employees) under Article 12, Clause 3 of the Labor Migration Law.

  • Contracts shorter than 1 year are not allowed unless a specific, justified reason is provided e.g. seasonal work, temporary replacement of an employee.

  • Contracts longer than 30 months are not permitted and will be automatically converted into unlimited contracts.

For foreign employees, Horizons strictly adheres to the legal requirement of fixed-term contracts up to 30 months. These guidelines ensure full compliance with Georgian labor and immigration law.
