What is the Overtime Pay Policy in the Czech Republic?
In the Czech Republic, overtime work is regulated to ensure employees' rights are protected.
Work Hours & Overtime Limits:
Full-Time Work Week:
- A full-time workweek is 40 hours or 8 hours per day.
- The length of a shift cannot exceed 12 hours.
Overtime Limits:
- Overtime cannot exceed 8 hours per week for more than 26 consecutive weeks.
- The maximum overtime allowed in a year is 150 hours.
Overtime Pay:
Regular Overtime:
- Overtime pay is 125% of the regular hourly rate.
- Alternatively, employees can be granted additional time off instead of overtime pay.
Work on Holidays:
- For work on public holidays, employees are entitled to their regular wages plus time-off.
Weekend Work:
- For work on weekends, the overtime pay rate is 110% of the regular wages.
Night Shifts:
- Night shifts cannot exceed 8 hours within a 24-hour period.
