Turkey observes 16 public holidays throughout the year, offering employees a chance to rest and celebrate significant national events:
January 1 – New Year’s Day
March 19 - March 22 – Ramadan Feast Holiday
April 23 - National Sovereignty & Children’s Day
May 1 – Labor Day
May 19 – Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day
May 26- May 30 – Sacrifice Feast Holiday
July 15 – Democracy and National Unity Day
August 30 – Victory Day
October 28 to October 29 – Republic Day
Notes:
If a public holiday falls on a weekend, no additional day off is given by default. However, with employer approval, an additional day off may be granted.
Religious holidays are based on the lunar (Hijri) calendar and may shift slightly depending on moon-sighting.
Half-day closures typically apply to the afternoon of Muslim feast eves and Republic Day Eve.
